This single-family residence is located in Wilson, Wyoming on a hillside above Jackson. The clients are full-time residents and enjoy mountain biking, cross country skiing, and backpacking–among other activities. A full-size lap pool occupies most of the lower level, while the upper level houses the main program, including office space, a lounge/meditation space, kitchen, living, dining, and master suite. The house is clad in a rugged exterior “shell” that is comprised of a dark wood and corrugated copper. The interior palette is much softer, with almost every surface clad in a warm wood finish. The team was challenged by the programmatic requirements of the pool, which dictated many of the formal moves of the project.
