This 35-acre property holds a rich history, having formerly functioned as a working cattle ranch. For their new residence and barn, the owners wanted to return the land to its historic roots as a working ranch, creating a home situated next to a new barn, corral, and pastures that help them return to their equestrian roots.
A series of undulating structures set against an aspen grove near Wilson, Wyoming, this mountain home serves as a creative retreat for a California-based couple. The 35-acre property is set at the base of the Tetons and encompasses several ecosystems, with old-growth forest merging into stands of young pine and aspen trees before transitioning into rolling meadows.
Caju is a home where simplicity and honesty of materials are derived from the belief that there is beauty in functionality. The name “Caju” is borrowed from a Brazilian fruit with an orange shell, similar to the home’s weathered steel exterior.
Set against the dramatic backdrop of Jackson, Wyoming, this residence blends tradition and modernity, designed to stand as a legacy for generations. The home takes advantage of its site’s sloping contours, seamlessly integrating into the hillside and embracing expansive, panoramic views of the Teton Range and Sheep Mountain.
