Bio

Steve’s work is influenced by the wide variety of places he has lived, visited, and studied throughout his life. From the humble restraint of modern Scandinavian architecture to the thoughtful reinterpretation of classical architecture of Thomas Jefferson and everything in between, Steve’s passion lies in finding the right balance of timeless materials and simple forms that serve the modern world’s ever-changing needs. Technology hasn’t replaced our need to feel warmth, light, and comfort in the spaces we occupy today, just the means to realize and inhabit them.

Steve’s roots are in the south, where he was born and raised in Virginia, but feels most at home amongst the wide-open spaces and limitless vistas of the American West. After his undergraduate education at the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, during which he spent a semester living abroad in Copenhagen, Denmark and traveling to twelve different countries, he decided to escape the traditionalism and aggressive pace of the east coast to explore the west by settling in Jackson Hole. He spent five years in Jackson with CLB working on over thirty projects during his time there and has remained with the firm in some capacity ever since. After finishing his graduate studies in architecture and real estate development at Arizona State, he decided to stay and now leads the firm’s Phoenix office.
