Matt has over 15 years of experience leading project teams on a range of building types including residential, multi-family, office, restaurant, resort, and institutional work. By producing work that is expressive of context, he seeks to create architecture that is rooted in the American West landscape while being reflective of today’s values. He specializes in energy efficient and long life-cycle design.  Design research and refined integration across disciplines, all done in response to client desires, form the heart of his holistic approach.

Matt joined CLB in 2006.  He was project architect of the Sublette County Library Addition, the first commercial building in the U.S. to utilize insulated rammed earth walls. As project manager for the Home Ranch Welcome Center in Jackson, WY, he led the project to a LEED Gold accreditation while enmeshing a contemporary design solution in the heart of ‘the last of the Old West’.

Matt holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from Virginia Tech and is a board member of the Wyoming Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council. He lives with his wife, daughter, son, horses, and other critters on a small farm he designed and built in Victor, ID.
