Douglas Williamson

Interior Designer

Bio

Douglas moved out west after graduating from the University of Georgia, with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Interior Design from the Lamar Dodd School of Art and Certificate of Entrepreneurship from the Terry College of Business. Douglas has always been drawn to the visual arts and found that design allowed her to apply her love for color, line, and the creative process to better the functionality and aesthetic of physical spaces.

Music and art serve as constant inspiration to Douglas, as well as her surroundings, both built and natural. She began painting at a young age and continues to create works in a range of mediums in her free time. Originally from Richmond, Virginia, she grew up spending the majority of her summers on the waters of the Chesapeake Bay. She feels this constant exposure to the water sparked her initial respect for the natural environment, emulating CLB’s “Inspired by place” philosophy from a young age. In keeping with the concepts of biomimicry, the notion that nature itself can serve as a mentor, measure, and means for innovation, Douglas feels the built environment should work to honor the natural landscape whenever possible.
