Bio

“People ignore design that ignores people” is the mantra that drive’s Alex’s approach and aspirations in design. Engaging in responsive and tactile methods, he strives to find a balance between crafted, vernacular and responsive, forward-thinking design work. Raised with blue-collar Midwestern roots, childhood was surrounded by hands-on experiences in construction and inventiveness, with his family trades such as home building and art history. Alex is always looking for balance in design and opportunities for weaving creative narratives from the largest scales of urban design to the minute details of furniture creation.

Alex began his studies in Indiana at Ball State University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Environmental Sciences in 2014. After graduation, he answered his call to the west in Oregon while completing his Master in Urban Architecture from the University of Oregon’s Portland campus. These diverse academic studies continued to push his desire for unique learning towards Bozeman in 2016 where he worked as project manager at a local residential firm for four and a half years. He moved to CLB in 2021 where he acts as project manager, bringing his various experiences and passion for environmental stewardship.

Alex spends his time out of the office exploring the limitless possibilities Montana’s outdoors offers in biking, hiking, camping, and snowboarding. In his free time, he enjoys finding new outdoor hobbies and sketching ideas for his latest furniture design. Active in the community, he donates his time to helping the Gallatin Valley Food Bank in their help to fight local hunger.
