Bio

From a young age Stephanie knew she wanted to be a designer. She started her career in the hospitality industry, working as an interior designer on Marriott and IHG hotels. While practicing interior design, she realized she wanted to do more with the built environment and went on to get a Master of Architecture from Georgia Tech. Her time in grad school became a major turning point for how she viewed the spatial and cultural environments that we have built for ourselves.

During her time at Georgia Tech, Stephanie spent two and a half years as a lead developer on the design, fabrication, and installation of a sculpture known as the Veil. First a temporary sculpture on the Atlanta Beltline, a former railway corridor around Atlanta that has been developed into a multi-use trail, the Veil was later refined for permanent installation on Georgia Tech’s campus. This process fostered interest in material research, visual representation, and fabrication.

Throughout her design career, she has worked on many projects varying in size, scope, and typology. Her approach to architecture considers the context of place in addition to beauty. It is her belief that beautifully designed buildings are not only more pleasing but also more effective.

She moved to Jackson in 2019 looking for a change of scenery and to focus on her personal wellness. Her favorite Jackson activities are hiking, cross-country skiing, and spending time on the water. When she isn’t enjoying all that Jackson has to offer, she spends her time remodeling a ‘68 Shasta camper with her husband and perusing cookbooks for her next gourmet meal.
