Bio

Born and raised in Wyoming, Eric’s motivation to design comes from the very soil on which CLB’s practice is built. Over nearly three decades at the firm, Eric has “led by doing” – guiding design decisions from the most intricate details to broader, landscape-wide strokes. Eric’s relentlessly grounded work ethos has helped foster a collaborative atmosphere in which each team member’s contribution is recognized as vital to the finished project, from architects and interior designers, to material fabricators and construction workers.

Influenced by the raw beauty of mountain landscapes, the sleek forms of modernist architecture, and the honest materiality of vernacular structures, Eric’s approach to design relies on a continuously generative process. He begins each project at the level of the site, balancing conceptual intuition and careful planning. Examining the unique fabric of the landscape, he employs spatial techniques to reframe the relationship between the future occupant and their natural surroundings. In his time at CLB, Eric has led a variety of innovative, site-sensitive projects, including high-end residences, resort facilities, visitor centers, and public art installations across the United States. His work has received numerous regional and national design awards, and has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, Luxe, Dwell, Dezeen, Architect Magazine, and Architectural Record, among others.

Logan began his career after graduating with a Master of Architecture degree from Arizona State University in 1991, first working in Denver with Urban Design Group and Blue Sky Studio, where he participated in Denver’s urban renewal initiative. He was drawn back to Wyoming in 1995 to join CLB. Recognized by the American Institute of Architects as a “Citizen Architect” for contributions to his community, Eric was a founding member and served on the Town of Jackson Design Review Committee for 12 years. Eric has a deep connection to nature and prioritizes exploring the outdoors.
