Roger was first introduced to CLB in 2017, where he won an academic competition judged by members of the firm. Roger received his master’s degree from Kansas State University in 2020 and went on to explore the parks of Western America in a self-converted Ford Econoline van before joining CLB the following fall. Roger brings with him his experience from internships in Kansas and Austin, TX, as well as a small amount of construction from his summers in high school.

Hailing from the small town of Anthony, Kansas, Roger grew up working with his father on a small crop farm. His childhood here established an affiliation for the outdoors and an enjoyment for the efficient problem solving that often took place on the farmstead. His exposure to the vernacular architecture of the Midwest instilled values of contextual appropriateness that eventually led him to CLB. Roger now strives to create architectural solutions that capture a sense of place within a framework of biophilic, practical, and sustainable design.

Aside from designing, Roger enjoys playing music, board games, and is always seeking out the multitude of recreational activities offered in the area.
