Mark grew up in San Diego, California spending much of his time in the ocean and nearby mountains. This intimacy with nature had a strong role in shaping Mark’s fascination with architecture, and how the built world could reside within it. He would often draw houses perched in mountains or on islands to play around with how they would interact with the rough landscapes.

He received his Bachelors of Science in Architecture at University of Michigan which gave him the opportunity to explore a completely different landscape and climate of the United States.  He also had a chance to study in Japan for a summer, where he became inspired by modern Japanese architecture, particularly work on the art islands of Naoshima and Teshima which utilized site and natural lighting to create breathtaking experiences.

Enamored and inspired by the mountains, Mark moved to Jackson after graduation and started at CLB in 2021 to pursue work within the variable and stunning landscape of the Rocky Mountain West.

Outside of the office you can find Mark skiing, surfing, snowboarding, hiking, biking, climbing or traveling to explore new places around the world.
