Inspired by: I grew up in Michigan where I spent a majority of my time immersed in natural environments that the state had to offer. Spending time in the rural areas of the state I became enamored by the agrarian architecture vernacular of the Midwest, these simple forms and honesty of materials still drive my designs. Furthermore, agrarian architecture always carefully touches the land, typically forming itself around the site as opposed to forming the site around the buildings, and this has given me insight into how to adapt to a variety of landscapes when designing.
